My overall experience with Mesquite Independent School District (MISD) has been a mixed but largely positive journey. One of the standout features of MISD is the dedication of the teaching staff. The educators are not only skilled but also genuinely invested in their students' success. This commitment is reflected in the innovative teaching methods and the extra support provided to students who need it. The district offers a variety of programs and extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests, from academic competitions to arts and athletics. However, there have been challenges as well. One area for improvement is the communication between the district and parents. At times, it feels like important updates or changes are not communicated effectively, which can lead to confusion or missed opportunities. To further enhance the educational experience, I would suggest focusing on improving communication channels between the district and families.

Mesquite ISD definitely has some strengths and weaknesses. From having great academic scores to preferring some students over others. It is true teachers do have favorites and it can clearly be seen by the rest of the students especially when it’s the administrators that do the favoritism. I would like to see this change due to other kids getting in trouble for the smallest things while the “favorite ones” get away with it. Yet for their academics I believe it is truly one of the best districts to study at, I got my certification for PCT last year and I proudly say I had the best teacher.

My overall experience in Mesquite ISD was a rollercoaster. I've spent all 12 years there and have seen enough and everything. Some pros of the school district is that it was always safe and actually cares about their students. The schools were more likely diverse and had a lot of opportunities. Some cons of it were the inconsistency of maintenance in public schools, specifically high schools. The lunch was okay but it was never up to par. The kids that attend here at the district are questionable, but then again they're kids so I can't say much.
